Redding council mulls banning commercial cannabis for up to another year
Redding will wait up to another year before allowing the burgeoning legal marijuana industry in city limits as the City Council on Tuesday is poised to extend its ban on such activity until as late as December 2018.The move comes as the city is also working behind the scenes to craft rules for commercial cannabis. Those rules are expected to be out for council approval sometime next year.Absent the ban or other rules, Redding would be at the whims of state regulators, who’ll start issuing licenses for cannabis businesses after the New Year.
