LIVE CHAT: Housing First Forum

Lloyd Pendleton, former director of the Utah Homeless Task Force, will speak on the issue of homelessness and its impact on a community noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at McLaughlin Auditorium, 1805 Sequoia St., Redding. He will stress the need for cooperation between multiple agencies in the county, city and private sector with the topic "How Utah Implemented 'Housing First' and Reduced Homelessness." The forum will be hosted by The Women's Fund of Shasta County, Record Searchlight and Shasta Community Health Center. In 2005 Pendleton and his staff drafted a plan to address Utah's chronic homelessness and after 10 years the numbers that population is down by 91 percent due, in part, to an aggressive housing first model.
